Biography
Taiwanese pianist Pin-Shiuan Lin, born in 2000, began her piano journey at the age of five under the guidance of Hsiu-Shan Liao, later continuing her studies with Professor Chin-Chuan Chang. At just fifteen, she gave her first solo recital, and the following year was admitted to the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (HMTMH), where she has since studied with Professor Alexander Schimpf. She is currently pursuing the prestigious Soloklasse degree (Concert Exam), the highest performance diploma offered by the institution.
A frequent prizewinner in major piano competitions across Taiwan from an early age, Pin-Shiuan gained international recognition by winning Second Prize at the “Young Piano Stars” International Piano Competition in Königs-Wusterhausen, Germany, during her first year of study abroad. She was also awarded Second Prize at the Orbetello International Piano Competition in Italy, further establishing her presence on the international stage.
Pin-Shiuan‘s performances have taken her across Europe and Asia, through appearances at international music festivals and concert venues. She has deepened her artistry through masterclasses with distinguished pianists including Nelson Delle-Vigne, Andrea Lucchesini, Michel Béroff, Imogen Cooper, Bertrand Chamayou, and Wolfgang Manz.
In the winter of 2024, Pin-Shiuan participated in an Erasmus exchange program at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), where she studied with Professor Florent Boffard. In the summer of 2025, she continued her studies with Professor Laurent Cabasso at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon (CNSMDL).
